Meet Our 2026 Grand Marshal: Redmond “Red” RamosRedmond Ramos is one of four brothers who all chose the same path of service—as Navy Corpsmen with the Fleet Marine Force, standing shoulder‑to‑shoulder with Marine infantrymen in combat. On March 26, 2011, near the end of a deployment to Sangin, Afghanistan, with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, tragedy struck. When a fellow Marine stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED), Red moved without hesitation to render aid. As he maneuvered toward the casualty, he triggered a second IED. The blast took his left leg below the knee and left him with additional injuries, but it never took his spirit.A proud California native, Red credits the ocean with helping him heal—calling the hours spent surfing and scuba diving his “greatest therapy.” His resilience, determination, and refusal to let adversity define him have inspired countless others.Today, Red finds his greatest joy in time spent with his wife, Krista—a former Los Angeles City firefighter—and their two children, Aspen and Redmond. We are deeply honored to welcome Redmond Ramos as our 2026 Grand Marshal, representing the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, and the Corpsmen who serve faithfully by their side. We invite you to meet Red at the EXPO after the race and hear his remarkable story firsthand.lagunahillshalfmarathon.com/ ... See MoreSee Less
